Beau was my first dog and a huge part of me, what I do, the business and my life. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a short illness on the 7th July 2012. He was about 8 years old. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to meet and greet anyone that came across his path or through the gate. He loved people and always wanted to be a part of what was happening. He was a wonderful faithful friend to me and many others who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Some of you may of known Connie. A sweet and gentle roughly 12 hand Conemara pony who was a part of the team for around 3 years. I knew her from my work at Kate Tapley Horse Treks or more specifically Otahuna Horse Riding in Tai Tapu so I personally knew her for around 10 years. She was a sensitive little girl who was very loving, cute and great to have around. She had several lumps and bumps due cancer making itself know on various parts of her body as well as Cushings diesease which meant she grew a very long winter coat earning her various nick names such as powder puff, polar bear, little fluff among others. She passed away peacefully in the paddock on the 13th September 2017. Rest in peace little one and thank you for being a part of the ABNH team.
Alfie passed away on 15th February 2019. He was an awesome pony who's favourite hobbies were eating, sleeping and limiting his activity level as much as possible. He took all ages and abilities from when kids could walk to someone in their late 70's/early 80's. He did a variety of things from lessons, lead rides on and off site, road rides even achieved Parelli Level 2 On-Line and Freestyle with one of my riders also visited one of the local churches for the annual animal service of thanksgiving. He was one of those ponies that you could rely on to not do anything stupid. Those who interacted will him always walked away with a smile on their faces. You will be hugely missed by many who knew you. Thank you for your contribution and all you did with us, may you enjoy your time in equine heaven.
